Why we love this wine
-
Grapes & Terroir
Terrace Edge is ultra-fastidious in its organic vineyard to ensure the Pinot Gris fruit has intense concentration of flavour. The vines are shoot-thinned to allow good exposure to the sun. Cropping levels are kept low to ensure the fruit is concentrated. Varietal flavours are accumulated through hang time on the vines well into Autumn. -
Winemaking
Fermentation is with native yeasts in aged oak barriques, for added texture and complexity the lees was stirred periodically. -
Tasting
The nose is richly fruited and aromatic showing golden peach, pear and spice characters. The palate has concentrated fruit power with subtle sweetness, backed by a velvety mouthfeel and refreshing acidity. The aromatics show good depth. Medium-dryish to taste and medium-full-bodied, the palate has rich flavours of stonefruit with exotic florals and honeysuckle. There is also a layer of nutty, creamy complexity. -
Makers Match
Great with Asian dishes, particularly aromatic spicy soups and dishes. -
