Why we love this wine

  • Grapes & Terroir

Silty loam over free draining gravels. Standard vertical trellis
  • Winemaking

The fruit for this wine was handpicked from the eight rows of Riesling on Bladen's eastern block. It was whole-cluster-pressed very softly. After 12 hours of settling, the juice was racked and warmed. Two yeast strains were introduced to start fermentation. It fermented at a cool temperature over a number of weeks. The wine was then aged on lees for 2-3 months to build texture and complexity.
  • Tasting

Colour: light-straw with a green hue and a bright clarity. Nose: delicate lime and floral notes, with a suggestion of tea leaf and wet rock. Palate: citrus and green apple flavours with hints of lemongrass. This wine has a seamless, well balanced lengthy palate full of energy. Cellaring: drink now or cellar for 7 years or more.
  • Makers Match

Serve as an aperitif, or with lighter food options such as summer salads and seafood
