Why we love this wine

• Grapes & Terroir

  All of Fontenille’s wines are made using grapes grown on their estate owned vineyards, it’s Lauris vineyards of 35 stunning hectares are tended with the utmost care using certified organic and sustainable practices that ensure the highest quality grapes.
• Winemaking

  Transport of harvest via vibrating trucks after a first sorting on the parcel. Second manual sorting on vibrating sorting table at the entrance of the winery. Destemming and then crushing before gravity incubation. Short cold pre-fermentation. Mono varietal fermentation under controlled temperature in concrete tanks and oak barrels. Post-fermentation maceration during several weeks before juices are poured and marcs pressed. Malolactic fermentation before winter in concrete 75hl oak barrels during 36 months.
• Tasting

  The expression of the terroir is at its peak and this sunny Syrah will transport you to the heart of the Luberon massif. On the nose, small notes of violet, black fruits and roasting are the promise of a magnificent evolution. In the mouth, the attack is frank, the tannins are silky and polished. It induces a controlled aging to limit the impact of the wood on the wine. Roasted aromas of dark chocolate and spices then open up to finally give way to jammy black fruits that will envelop your palate with great sweetness. The aging potential is very promising.
• Makers Match

  Cuvée Primard will perfectly accompany grilled meats or in sauce. Syrah is also perfect with desserts based on chocolate and compote of red fruits.
