Why we love this wine

• Grapes & Terroir

  50% Black Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre. All of Fontenille’s wines are made using grapes grown on their estate owned vineyards, it’s Lauris vineyards of 35 stunning hectares are tended with the utmost care using certified organic and sustainable practices that ensure the highest quality grapes.
• Winemaking

  Young winemaker Xavier Balespouey combines history’s lessons of this 1638 estate with modern minimal intervention techniques to create wines of cool, contemporary elegance. Le Domaine de Fontenille's Cuvée Fontenille wines are superb examples of the best of Provence, with our Makersvine exclusive allocation transported from Provence in temperature controlled shipping. Cuvée wines are blended from specially selected vats or tanks, with the Fontenille tier varietal fermentation in concrete vats and stainless steel tanks.
• Tasting

  This Luberon AOC wine is a pure expression of a Provence Rosé, a refreshing dry style with subtle fruit. In the winery at Fontenille, we were given the rare experience of tasting the rosé and white wines in tank and older vintage red wines aged in barrel. The fine flavours we encountered even before the wines were ready for bottling made us determined to bring this perfect taste of Provence to Australia. This estate bottled rosé is a gorgeous expression of one of the most beautiful areas in Provence. One of our 'go to' wines, lightly balanced, yet generous and gourmet.

  We love drinking this special rosé, lightly chilled, as an aperitif. Also great with seafood BBQs; perfect with light to medium cheeses.
